A city criss-crossed with canals

Cork, which used to be an island, now stretches out along both banks of the River Lee. This is why the city is full of bridges and canals, which flow underneath the main streets. This fishing port on the south coast is a delight for ramblers, who can follow the marked trail through the town and visit the many tourist attractions along the way.

Not-to-miss sites

Saint Finbarr’s Cathedral, the museum and Cork Butter Exchange a small craft centre, will welcome you with open arms. Other not-to-miss places: University College beside the river, and Shandon’s red and white church up on the hill.

Surrounding area

County Cork and the warm Irish welcome are sure to enchant you. Take the opportunity to discover new places such as Millstreet Country Park, Fota Wildlife Park, and the Royal Gunpowder Mills…
