A city on the Rhine
First built several centuries ago on the eastern bank of the Rhine, Düsseldorf has since grown and now sits on both banks of the river. The Capital city of North Rhine-Westphalia is famous for its "Altstadt”, the beautiful old town.
Plenty to see and do in Düsseldorf
On an evening out, try out the Altbier, the local brown ale. During the day, make your way to the main shopping street known as the Königsallee (“Kö” to the locals), and its many luxury boutiques.
Don't leave without visiting the KunstPalast Museum, which houses one of the finest art collections in the region.
